Blackberry Barbecued Ribs

This is a recipe my Grandmother came up with when she was trying to use up last year's canning. It was so good she made this every year and now I make it too. Ribs are very moist.

Blackberry Barbecued Ribs



    1. Preheat grill to 350 degrees F.
    2. In food processor or blender, place blackberry jam, ketchup, brown sugar ginger, hot sauce and pepper; whirl until ingredients are pureed. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add blackberry mixture and bring to a boil; boil 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and set aside.
    3. Rinse ribs and pat dry. Trim and discard any excess fat. Place on grill away from heat source for 40 minutes, turning every 20 minutes.
    4. Baste one side of ribs with 1/3 of prepared sauce; turn ribs and sauce side down and cook 10 minutes or until sauce browns and forms a thick, sticky glaze. Repeat and cook for additional 10 minutes.
    5. Cut between bones into individual serving potions and serve with remaining sauce.
