Canuck-Tex Pork Side Spareribs

Pork side spare ribs done on a gas grill with Canuck-Tex sauce.

Prep Time

Requires attention
Cook Time
1 to 1½ hours

    1. Cut ribs into serving portions, slice up apple and onion and place in roasting pan along with the 2 cups of water and the 1/4 cup of vinegar, add ribs and cover with foil. Place on gas grill to boil, then simmer for 1/2 hour. This can also be done in the oven, but I prefer to do it all on the grill.
    2. Take remaining ingredients and mix into sauce. After ribs are simmered, drain pan and discard apple, onion and remaining water. Add sauce to ribs in pan, cover with foil and simmer on grill for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    3. After ribs have simmered in sauce, put burner on high and sear ribs for approx 2 minutes each side until ribs have grill marks. Do not burn. Take tongs and re-dip ribs back into sauce and return to grill if you like extra sauce on ribs.
